New development for the Stuttgart-North district. Realization competition for Rümelinstrasse 32 and 38 successfully completed. The committee unanimously selects the design by Beer Bembé Dellinger Architects and Urban Planners as the winner.
Stuttgart, 28.10.2022. On the site at Rümelinstraße 32 and 38, an urban quarter with residential and commercial areas as well as a daycare center is to be built. In the course of the realization competition, the committee of urban planners, politicians, architects and investors unanimously decided in favor of the design by Beer Bembé Dellinger Architekten und Stadtplaner. The work of the office from Greifenberg, Upper Bavaria now forms the basis of the future development plan. The decision on the development plan is to be taken before the end of this year, and the key urban planning data will be defined. Construction is scheduled to start around 2025. Isaria München Projektentwicklungs GmbH, a subsidiary of QUARTERBACK Immobilien AG, is realizing the project for Deutsche Wohnen.
The planned area is located in the immediate vicinity of the new Rosenstein Mitte development project, which is also being implemented by Isaria and is already under construction. The development concept for the total 5,551 m² area on Rümelinstrasse is to be developed in conjunction with the neighboring project to create a new urban quarter.
“In their winning design, the colleagues from Beer Bembé Dellinger Architects and Urban Planners have succeeded excellently in harmoniously integrating the new quarter into the surrounding development. The quality of the urban planning and open space concept convinced us,” explains David Christmann, spokesman for the Isaria management.
“We have taken up the cause of implementing future-oriented and livable residential concepts. This is the only way we can contribute to the creation of innovative urban neighborhoods and create attractive living space in the long term. It was therefore particularly important to us that the winning design should also be convincing in terms of the ‘quality of living and distribution of uses’ as well as the important issues of ‘sustainability’ and ‘urban climate compatibility’,” adds Christmann. For example, the design provides for generous green spaces as well as a diverse roofscape that is also greened, which both create important recreational areas for residents and make a significant contribution to supporting the local microclimate. The use of photovoltaic systems on the roofs is also planned.
“We were particularly pleased that the committee voted unanimously in favor of the winning design,” adds Matthias Rieker, head of Isaria’s Stuttgart office. “This underlines the good cooperation between all stakeholders and underpins the common goals for the next implementation milestones. Our thanks also go to kohler grohe architekten, who provided excellent support for the realization competition.”
