200 Dachau schoolchildren spray-painted artworks on the theme of “Future Living” on the Konrad-Adenauer-Strasse construction fence.
A jury and the public now select three works of art, which will each be awarded 500 euros for their class coffers at the beginning of October.
The artworks on Konrad-Adenauer-Strasse have been completed. In a school project on July 22 and 25, more than 200 students, together with their teachers and under the direction of the art and graffiti association Outer Circle, artistically expressed themselves on the topic of “Future Living”. The campaign was initiated by Isaria München Projektentwicklungs GmbH. Now the public and a jury are called upon to select three works of art for the prize money of 500 euros each. Another 500 euros will be divided among the remaining seven classes.
For this purpose, the jury met on Friday, Aug. 12, 2022 at the construction fence at the corner of Konrad Adenauer/ Freisinger Straße for an initial selection. The jury was composed of representatives of the City Council and Isaria. Lord Mayor Florian Hartmann also cast his vote on Friday.
“I am impressed by what the students have artistically implemented on the construction fence. The children’s view opens up an important perspective on urban development. What do our children and young people expect from a new neighborhood? What makes the new Mühlbachviertel distinctive and what feeling do the students associate with the new district? From the water tower to recreational opportunities and sustainable buildings to abstract diversity, everything is represented. We would like to thank the students, teachers and schools for their impressive design,” says David Christmann, spokesman for Isaria’s management. Isaria is realizing the project for Deutsche Wohnen.
Starting Aug. 16, 2022, the public is also invited to admire the artworks and vote on which three should receive the prize money. Citizens can vote via the Facebook page MD Papierfabrik Dachau. The most mentions together with the jury’s evaluation will produce the final result. Votes can be cast until August 24.
